Submit an Abstract

We invite you to submit your abstract by August 28th. Please make sure to register and use the button below to complete the submission process. More information and guidelines are provided below to ensure your abstract meets all necessary criteria.

Topics of Interest

In alignment with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Notice of Special Interest in Women’s Health (NOT-OD-24-079), we are seeking research abstracts focused on diseases and health conditions that predominantly affect women (e.g., autoimmune diseases; depressive disorders; Alzheimer’s disease; gender-based violence), present and progress differently in women (e.g., cardiovascular disease; HIV; reproductive aging and its implications), or are female-specific (e.g., uterine fibroids; endometriosis; menopause).

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Investigating the influence of sex-linked biology, gender-related factors, or their intersections on human health and disease
  • Translating research advancements and evidence in women’s health into practical benefits for patients and providers
  • Reducing health disparities and inequities affecting women’s health, including those related to race, ethnicity, age, socioeconomic status, disability, and exposure to environmental factors and contaminants that can directly affect health
  • Disseminating and implementing research to increase uptake of evidence-based interventions that advance women’s health
  • Increasing public awareness of the need for greater investment in and attention to women’s health research and outcomes across the lifespan
  • Topics identified in the NIH’s Women’s Health Innovation Opportunity Map

Abstracts are not required to focus exclusively on women. To advance our knowledge of how sex and gender influence human health and disease, we also welcome abstracts on other topics that consider sex or gender as a variable in study design and reporting.

For more information on the use of sex and gender in study design and reporting, refer to the Sex and Gender Equity in Research (SAGER) Guidelines and the NIH Policy on Sex as a Biological Variable.
